Essex Hall Theatre is the venue for all mainstage performances by University Players. It's 323 plush seats provide an intimate setting for over 50 performances each year, reaching an audience of nearly 14,000 people.

An ample lobby space makes it comfortable to attend the theatre. The latest in sound and lighting equipment, and the ingenuity of our designers make nearly anything possible on the stage. Past productions have included the use of revolving sets and trap doors.

Direct access to the backstage area from the Jackman Dramatic Art Centre makes it very convenient for cast and crew. The Theatre has its own dressing rooms and costume shop.
