$70,000, One-time funding over two years

The 4WINDS project will engage with Aboriginal students in grades 6 to 8 in the areas of mathematics, technology, scientific thinking, and technical communication. Students in the program will take part in science and technology experiences that are extensions of Aboriginal cultural practices in interacting with nature for health, food, shelter, and energy. The goal of this initiative is to increase Aboriginal participation in post-secondary science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education and to enhance the academic preparation of the participating Aboriginal students.
