Welcome to Graduate Studies in Psychology at the University of Windsor!
Our programs of study lead to the PhD in either Applied Social Psychology or Clinical Psychology. In terms of the Applied Social program, we are one of only three doctoral level programs in Canada and students can work with faculty members who specialize in areas such as health, community, and industrial/organizational psychology. In terms of the Clinical program, we have held continuous accreditation from both the Canadian (CPA) and American (APA) Psychological Associations for more than 20 years. This accreditation attests to the high quality of both the research and applied practice components of our programs. Students in the Clinical program can specialize in adult, child, or neuropsychology tracks. In addition, we offer a MA in Social Data Analysis jointly with the department of Sociology and Anthropology. This is the only program of its kind in Canada.
Because of their academic excellence and accomplishments, our graduate students are successful in receiving both internal University scholarships as well as a variety of external scholarships. We offer a wide variety of research opportunities and flexibility in terms of working with faculty across programs and tracks. As a border community, we are uniquely situated to provide diverse research and applied training opportunities both in Windsor and across the border in the Metro Detroit area. Graduate students participate in all levels of departmental governance and find the atmosphere in the graduate program supportive and friendly (see testimonials from past and current students).
