Healthcare and the Charter: Legal Mobilization and Policy Change in Canada

Dr. Christopher Manfredi, provost of McGill University and professor of political science, examines tensions between universal health care and the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as expressed in three Supreme Court cases, to explore the systematic use of Charter litigation and the policy impact of resulting judicial decisions on health care in Canada.

Dr. Manfredi's lecture is co-sponsored by the Department of Political Science, the Humanities Research Group, and the UWindsor Provost's Office, and is free and open to the public.
