The Outstanding Scholars Program challenges and stimulates students by providing them with unique opportunities for academic discovery. During their first year of study Outstanding Scholars are mentored by the Program Coordinator and Program Advisor to prepare them to hold an Academic Appointment starting in their second year.
During their Academic Appointments in their second, third, and fourth years, Outstanding Scholars work closely with faculty on research and other important academic projects.
The Outstanding Scholars Program has recently been expanded to attract top high school students entering any first-year entry Honours undergraduate program at the University of Windsor. For the Fall Semester of 2014-15, one hundred and fifty OSP candidates will be admitted. Students outside the Outstanding Scholars program will also be eligible to compete for Academic Appointments at the end of their first year. To compete for an Appointment, all applicants must have completed at least eight and no more than twelve courses at the University of Windsor.
