Intellectual Property

To support the ongoing Technology Transfer activities at the University of Windsor, a new Intellectual Property-Technology Transfer (IP-TT) Committee and related IP/Technology Transfer procedure will be established to handle all forthcoming intellectual property disclosures and requests for support of patents.  This new procedure will be administered by an IP-TT committee chaired by the Executive Director of the Office of Research and Innovation Services with membership comprised of Deans (or their designates) from relevant Faculties, faculty members on campus and external stakeholders (e.g. legal representation) as needed.  The IP-TT Committee will be engaged in all matters related to patent support applications, including the internal selection process for support of patent costs.  Merit of applications will be assessed based on numerous factors (that will be outlined in the procedure and/or guidelines to follow) including (among others) plans for commercialization, market assessments, business plan, and faculty engagement in the process.
