My name is Edward King and I am the President of OPUS. My major is Modern languages (Italian and Spanish option).  I started taking courses as a part-time student in the Fall of 1991.  I have been involved with OPUS since 1992 during which time I have served in every position on the Board.  As President of OPUS I serve on the Board of Governors and Senate of the University of Windsor as well as many other Committees including, the University Library Administrative Committee, the Senate Steering Committee, the Alumni Board, the Resource Allocation Committee, and the PMB Committee which runs the Student Centre.  I am married with two daughters and a granddaughter and am a retired Special Education Teacher.  Outside the University I am also on several Boards.  I enjoy running and competing in 5K races and also lift weights on a regular basis.

I am happy to advocate on behalf of part-time students through the Committees and through meeting with Senior Administrators.  Whenever possible I like to advocate for individual students who bring their concerns to OPUS.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The President shall preside at all meetings of the members of the Corporation and of the Board of directors.
  2. The President shall be charged with the general management and supervision of the affairs and operations of the Corporation.
  3. The President shall represent the Organization on the Board of Governors and the Senate.

 

 
  

Anthony Meloche (Part-time Student)

Experience:

  • Anthony was the previous Director at Large Aug 2007 – April 2009 (OPUS)
  • He is a Committee Member for Student Committee, Academic Policy
  • Anthony is also a Committee member, Judicial Panel Representative

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The Vice President shall act as deputy to the President.
  2. The Vice President shall exercise the duties and powers during the absence or inability of the President.

He has been a part-student at Uwindsor since 2003. Anthony is currently studying Liberal and Professional Studies at the Uwindsor.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. The Treasurer shall make sure that sufficient records of a financial nature are kept.
  2. The Treasurer shall provide sufficient financial guidelines to the other members of the Board of Directors.
  3. The Treasurer shall prepare tentative budgets for discussion giving the priorities of the organization.
  4. The Treasurer shall set up and prepare for audits and the publishing of the yearly financial statements to the members.
