Background:
Building upon many years of business experience in auditing, logistics and business development in both public and private sectors, Francine Schlosser received her Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo in 2005. She has previously taught at Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Waterloo, and McMaster University in Ontario and at ESC Amiens, France.

Research Interests:
Dr. Schlosser’s research addresses trends that are of particular concern to the Canadian economy today. These include the greying of the workforce and the pursuit of entrepreneurialism. Her most significant contributions contribute to understanding how educators, employees and employers can stimulate entrepreneurial readiness and innovative knowledge-based strategic involvement; and manage mid- and late-career transitions within a context of new technology and internal and industry restructuring.  Her articles have been accepted for publication in academic journals including the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Organizational Studies, Human Resources Management Journal, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Small Business Management, and the Journal of Managerial Psychology.

In her roles as Executive Director of the University of Windsor's Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) and Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Odette School of Business, Dr. Schlosser has worked with other faculties to develop an entrepreneurial culture on campus.  Her research and collaborations with University of Windsor’s Law and Engineering faculties and the Office of Research and Innovation has attracted more than $3.5 million in funding in the past 8 years. She is involved in creating multi and inter-disciplinary courses across campus related to entrepreneurship.  Dr. Schlosser has been honoured with multiple research and teaching awards and has supervised over 55 graduate and undergraduate research assistants. Her current research focuses on career transition and entrepreneurial readiness. She was awarded University of Windsor’s Golden Jubilee Professorship in Business in 2013 and will hold this award until 2017. She is a member of the Board of Directors for Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce. She was previously Board Secretary, Canadian Council of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, and is on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
