Intended Audience: Mathematics & Statistics majors in first year through fourth year plus graduate students including those who are simply interested in knowing what an actuary is and those who have passed actuarial exams and are applying for a job.

First and second year students should be present to know what courses to take and when to begin to take the actuarial exams. Several people from the Willis Towers Watson Company will be making the presentation.

Actuarial work involves mathematics related to insurance and pensions. The job of an actuary is rated among the top jobs in North America in terms of job satisfaction, salary, and working conditions. If you are interested in knowing more about the actuarial profession in general, or about Towers Watson Company in particular, you are encouraged to attend. .

Willis Towers Watson is an international consulting company (primarily dealing with actuarial work), with a major center in Southfield, Michigan. At least 15 graduates of the University of Windsor Math & Stat program work at that location.
