UWin Accounts

Service Description

What is a UWin Account?

A UWin Account is your unique digital access name on campus. It consists of your UWin ID and your UWin password. If you do not yet have a UWin account you need to contact the Helpdesk (ext. 4440).

The University is moving towards simplifying passwords on its multiple systems. Faculty and staff need access to a number of systems, which may include Lotus Notes, Lotus Domino, Novell, arc1, SIS, Finance system, Dial-in, wireless, Spam Filter and VPN. That is a lot of passwords. To reduce this number, the UWin Account system has been developed to make passwords common on multiple systems. Currently your UWin ID has a common password for arc1, dial-up, wireless, Spam filtering, authenticated Web pages and Domino Web access. Separate passwords are required for other systems for either technical or security reasons.
