AN EVENING WITH MAESTRO ROBERT FRANZ

AND THE WINDSOR SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

PRESENTING

"LA PASSION DE JEANNE D'ARC"

6:00 PM PRE-SHOW LECTURE CO-SPONSORED WITH HRG

Maestro Franz, Windsor International Film Festival Director Vincent Georgie and Professor of Theatre Erica Stevens Abbitt invite WSO ticketholders to join them for this exciting event in a pre-show lecture about the power and significance of Dreyer's 1928 film about the life and death of Joan - martyr, rebel, victim and saint.

Maestro Franz will speak briefly about Einhorn's extraordinary project to create a contemporary soundscape to match Dreyer's silent classic.  Vincent Georgie will discuss the history of this controversial film, and the challenge of creating music to match its vision, and Dr. Stevens Abbitt will talk about the contribution of theatre pioneer (and iconoclast) Antonin Artaud to Dreyer's masterpiece.

This lecture is free, and no tickets are required.  However, those who wish to attend concert which follows at 8:00 pm must purchase the tickets.  To purchase concert tickets - - which are going fast! -- please call the WSO box office at 519-973-1238 ext. 2 or at http://www.windsorsymphony.com/season/masterworks4-1415.html
