The Biology Club Award
Value determined by interest earned on Trust Fund. The Biology Club is organized by the undergraduate and graduate students of Biological Sciences. Award is made annually to a student entering the M.Sc. program in Biological Sciences, on the basis of participation in departmental activities at the undergraduate level at the University of Windsor, financial need, and academic merit. This award may not be held concurrently with major awards such as NSERC and OGS. Application forms are available in the Biological Sciences office; deadline for submission to Biological Sciences, University of Windsor, is August 15.
Dr. Joseph E.J. Habowsky Graduate Student Teaching Award
Each academic year, an award may be made to an eligible graduate student in Biological Sciences who demonstrates enthusiasm, commitment and excellence in undergraduate teaching. Nominations may be made by a faculty member or graduate student by March 31 to the Graduate Program Committee. This Committee will evaluate and recommend an award to the Program Chair by April 15. This award was established by colleagues, friends and students to honour Dr. Joseph E.J. Habowsky, Professor of Biological Sciences, on the occasion of his retirement.
Biology Graduate Leadership Award for Excellence
One or two awards may be made in any academic year to recognize graduate students who demonstrate an enthusiasm for science, excellence in research and teaching, and who display leadership in fostering a spirit of enquiry and community within Biological Sciences, the University or society at large. Nominations with supporting documents may be made by a faculty member or graduate student by March 31 to the program coordinator. Faculty members of this Committee will evaluate and recommend awards to the Program Chair by April 15. This award was established by Biological Sciences to acknowledge graduate student excellence.
Dr. Michael L. Petras Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a graduate student in Biological Sciences who is engaged in research in the area of population or molecular genetics.
Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and show financial need.
Value: $1,000.
Chris Wysiekierski Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a graduate student for research excellence in the area of Ecology/Environmental Biology. Preference may be given to a student studying Aquatic Systems. No application is necessary. The Department of Biological Sciences will consider all eligible students in the program and make the final selection. Established in 2003 in memory of Chris Wysiekierski who was an M.Sc. candidate in Biological Sciences, and who tragically drowned while engaged in field research on the coral reefs off Belize. Chris was a committed conservationist, whose goal was the protection, restoration and management of coastal ecosystems.

Odette Graduate Awards in Business Administration
Scholarships are awarded annually to students in the M.B.A. program, on the basis of academic achievement and achievement on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Details available from the Odette School of Business.

Daniel Bryan Memorial Bursary
Awarded annually on the basis of academic standing to a full-time graduate student upon completion of the first year of the M.B.A. program. Established in 1985 by Mrs. Daniel Bryan and sons.

J. R. Calcott Memorial Fund
Awarded annually to a student who has completed Year I of the M.B.A. program, entering Year II. Recipients must have a cumulative average of at least B and must have demonstrated a strong interest in the area of entrepreneurship either by high grades in related courses or by serious research. Applicants must submit a letter of application and resume to the Dean of the Odette School of Business by September 30.

Commerce Class of '55 Alumni Award
For outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in business administration, awarded on the basis of combined academic excellence and extracurricular achievement. Further information is available from the Odette School of Business. Deadline for submission of applications is September 30.

Awarded to a graduate student entering the first year of the M.B.A. program. Further information is available from the Odette School of Business.
Denise Gervais Memorial Award
Awarded annually to a female graduate of the Honours B.Comm. program upon entrance to the M.B.A. program. Special consideration for this award will be given to students who demonstrate leadership qualities, interest in Human Resources, Marketing, and involvement in undergraduate extracurricular activities (i.e. Marketing and/or other teams). Established in 1994 by the family and friends in memory of Denise Gervais, B.Comm. (1991), M.B.A. (1992).

Don Riley Award
One award is to be made each year to an M.B.A. student. The award is made based on academic standing, demonstrated community involvement, leadership ability and extracurricular accomplishments, and financial need. The award is named in memory of the late Donald Riley, M.B.A ’90, who had an outstanding record of leadership and community involvement.

LL Odette Awards in Business Administration
Awarded to an MBA student on the basis of academic merit. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and show financial need.

John and Maria Simpson Graduate Scholarships
Awarded to one male and one female student entering the MBA program at the Odette School of Business. Recipient must have good academic standing and an on-going commitment to school and community activities.

William A. Redmond Memorial Bursary
Awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement to a student beginning a graduate program in Chemistry or Biochemistry at the University of Windsor. Established (1972) in memory of William A. Redmond, who obtained his doctorate in chemistry at the University of Windsor in 1964.

Dennis Tuck Memorial Scholarship in Chemistry
Awarded to a graduate student with an A+ average in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry to honour the outstanding career of Dr. Dennis Tuck, a distinguished and respected researcher, professor and former department head in Chemistry.
Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and show financial need.

Meng-Rooney Memorial Bursary
Value $500. Awarded annually on the basis of scholarship and financial need to a graduate student in Communication Studies. Established in 1989 in honour of a Master's student from the People's Republic of China.
Gregory Blake Nephew Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually on the basis of scholarship and financial need to a full-time graduate student in the Faculty of Education. Established in 1981 by Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Nephew. Deadline: April 15, to the Faculty of Education Graduate Program Office.

Erika Kuendiger Doctoral Scholarship
Awarded to a student enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Education. Established in 2002, in memory of Dr. Erika Kuendiger, a professor in the Faculty of Education.

Sustainable Engineering Faculty Scholarships (maximum of 5 per year)
Awarded to MASc or PhD students in the Environmental Engineering program. Recipeints must have an A- average upon entry into the program and maintain this average to retain the scholarship. Students in other Engineering MASc or PhD programs may be eligible provided their thesis work has a substantial element of Sustainable Engineering content. All recipients must take “Sustainability: Principles and Practices (course number 93-500). Preference will be given to students who:
1. at the PhD, level, express, by letter, a desire to pursue an academic career
2. at either level are receiving an NSERC scholarships (provided this does not affect the financial needs criterion)
Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and show financial need.
Value: $10,000 per year for PhD students (for a maximum of three years).
$ 7,500 per year for MASc students (for a maximum of two years).
Frederick G. and Doris B. Bristow Award
For M.A.Sc or Ph.D. students registered in any Engineering graduate program. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident with an average of at least 10.0, and show financial need. Recipients must have received their education from a recognized Canadian high school and their undergraduate degree froma Canadian university. Preference given to a student of English descent (at least one parent born in England).

Frederick Atkins Graduate Awards
Two annual awards given to graduate students in a program in Electrical Engineering on the basis of excellent performance in research and course work. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.

F. Wayne and Purita C. Bristow Award
For M.A.Sc or Ph.D. students registered in the Electrical Engineering graduate program. If no suitable candidate in Electrical Engineering, the award may be given to a student from another Engineering graduate program. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident with an average of at least 10.0, and show financial need. Recipients must have received their education from a recognized Canadian high school and their undergraduate degree from a Canadian university. Preference given to a student of Canadian descent (at least one parent born in Canada).

Benito P. and Teofila S. Calayag Award
For M.A.Sc or Ph.D. students registered in the Mechanical Engineering graduate program. If no suitable candidate in Electrical Engineering, the award may be given to a student from another Engineering graduate program. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident with an average of at least 10.0, and show financial need. Recipients must have received their degree from a recognized Canadian high school and their undergraduate degree from a Canadian university. Preference given to a student of Filipino descent (at least one parent born in Phillipines).

MEDA Ltd. Mel Lawn Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student in any graduate program in Mechanical, Automotive and Materials Engineering. Preference will be given to students who have a record of community service in the past two years. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident with an average of at least 9.0, and show financial need.

Commonwealth Graduate Prize
Value $100. Awarded annually on the basis of scholarship and financial need to an outstanding graduate student in English. The award was established by a grant-in-aid to English from the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan, on behalf of a Commonwealth Scholarship recipient.

Value $100. Human Kinetics Alumni Awards are bestowed annually on the basis of scholarship. Specific areas of emphasis will be identified each year.
Dr. Sheila J. Cameron Graduate Award
Value $250. One or more entrance awards annually to M.Sc. students in Nursing, on the basis of academic merit and leadership in Nursing. All students accepted into the Master's program in nursing will be considered for the award. Established in 1996 by the Faculty of Nursing alumni to honour the contribution of Dr. Sheila J. Cameron (Director of the School of Nursing from 1986-1995) to the development of graduate education.

Awarded annually to an M.Sc. student in Nursing entering the final year of the program, on the basis of scholarship and leadership. Established in 1996 by the School of Nursing alumni.

Chadwell-Horsburgh Family Award for Graduate Students
Awarded annually to a part-time M.Sc. student in Nursing who is a resident of Essex County. To be awarded on the basis of the applicant's academic merit and potential for scholarship. Established in 2000 to honour two families who have made long-standing contributions to the community of Windsor-Essex.

Dr. Devamma Purushotham Neuroscience Bursary Award
Awarded annually to a full-time graduate student in the Nursing program who specializes in Neuroscience. Established in recognition of the outstanding, dedicated services and support that Dr. Purushotham has provided as a volunteer to persons with brain injury and their families.
Dr. Janet N. Rosenbaum Graduate Practicum Scholarship
Awarded annually to a full-time graduate student after successful completion of the first year of the Master of Science program in Nursing on the basis of academic record and leadership. Established in honour of the contributions of Janet N. Rosenbaum to the Faculty of Nursing.
Dr. M. L. Drake Conference Travel Award
Awarded annually to a student in the M.Sc. program in Nursing, on the basis of academic merit, who is presenting a paper/or attending a Nursing conference. This award is open to both full- and part-time students.
Yvette Miller Memorial Graduate Nursing Award
Awarded on the basis of academic merit and leadership to a graduate student after successful completion of the first year of graduate studies in Nursing. Established in memory of Yvette Miller, a 1985 graduate of the B.Sc.N. program.
Elizabeth H. Gillespie Memorial Scholarship (4 awards available - at the undergraduate or graduate level)
Awarded to graduate students in the Faculty of Nursing who have a specialized interest in community health nursing, advanced nursing practice and/or in the nurse practitioner role in Canada, or health-related scholarship or research. Must be Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and show financial need.

Jean Linton Excellence Award for Nurse Practitioners (1 available)
Awarded to a student completing the integrated practicum (final course requirement) for the Nurse Practitioner Certificate programme who demonstrates strong dedication to excellence in nursing scholarship and research, with a special commitment to and high academic achievement in Community Health (home) nursing in Canada. Students will be recommended for this award by their teachers in the Faculty of Nursing. Candidate will be selected b y the Award Committee in the Faculty of Nursing.

Graduate Research Award in Clinical Neuropsychology
Awarded to graduate students in Psychology specializing in Child Clinical Neuropsychology. Funds are given for travel, conferences, etc., to support research endeavours. Established in 1995 by Louis L. Odette.

The Byron Rourke Scholarship in Clinical Neuropsychology
One scholarship in Clinical Neuropsychology will ordinarily be awarded annually to a full-time doctoral student in neuropsychology who must a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident, and an Ontario resident. Awarded on the basis of financial need and scholastic ability. Established in 2003 by alumni, colleagues and friends of Byron P. Rourke, in recognition of his illustrious and productive career and the Clinical Neuropsychology Program which he founded.
