STONE AND SKY SUMMER LITERARY, MUSIC AND ART SERIES on PELEE ISLAND!

Events happen on Saturdays, this summer: Pelee Island: July 8th through to August 19th.

Gates open Saturdays in the Pelee Quarry at 5:30 pm and events start at 6:00 pm

(In case of rain events move to the Winery next door – signs will be posted)

$12.50 admission for literary, music & art events.

Bring your own chair (limited seating)

PLUS!

Afternoon Farmer’s Markets from 1:00 to 4:00 pm (free admission)

Followed by Jazz Workshops 4:00 to 5:30 pm (free admission).

Location: the Quarry on Pelee Island

And during the afternoons there are free workshops with musicians and guest authors.

Concerts are catered by not-for-profit groups.

*Performances end with plenty of time to make the last Ferry.

 

This series is supported by the Trillium Foundation, the Ontario Arts Council, the Municipality of Pelee Island, and the Windsor Feminist Theatre group.

There are Farmers Markets in the Quarry every Saturday June 2nd  to Sept. 2nd -- 10 am to 1 pm.

The Jazz Café happens every Saturday from June 17th to Sept. 2nd -- 1 pm to 4 pm.

Aug. 5 EVENT:

Art: John Stuart Pryce & Andrew Cheddie Sookrah are “Plein Air” artists. John shares the beauty his eyes see, heart feels and soul years to understand, & philanthropic, Guyana-born Andrew shares his technical expertise and discerning eye.

Author: Sheniz Janmohamed is an author and arts educator who creates mandalas from words and writes poetry inspired by the land.

Musical Act: The Nihilist Spasm Band has been an influence on experimental media since their inception in 1965. Prepare to be unprepared.
