Healthy Eating, Healthy Weight

June 3 to July 26, 2019

Every day, we make choices about the foods and beverages we consume that can make a difference in our ability to maintain a healthy weight and reduce the risk of developing chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke, obesity and type 2 diabetes. 

From June 3 to July 262019 the Workplace Wellness Committee invites employees to participate in the "Healthy Eating, Healthy Weight Workplace Challenge”. The challenge is eight weeks in length with a new challenge theme (healthy eating habit) each week. (Please note - the 8 healthy eating themes are listed below)

How Does the Challenge Work?

• Each Thursday employees will receive an e-mail from “employeeengagement@uwindsor.ca” with information on the healthy eating theme and challenge for the following week. The information is sent ahead of time in order to provide employees with the opportunity to do any necessary grocery shopping or planning ahead of the week’s challenge.
• After reviewing the information provided, employees are encouraged to identify concrete actions to replace unhealthy habits with healthier habits.
• Developing new healthy eating habits takes time. As new habits are introduced each week, employees are encouraged to continue habits introduced in previous weeks.

Earning and tracking points is optional. Employees who are interested in tracking points can download the Challenge Overview and Tracking Sheets below.  Employees who submit their tracking sheet by July 31 will be entered into a draw for prizes.
