The Chemical Control Centre Technician will control the acquisition of hazardous material orders and ensure general stock chemicals & supplies are available and updated in the Scientific Materials Management System to ensure the safe acquisition of hazardous materials for the Chemical Control Centre.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have:

• A thorough understanding and familiarity (3 years’ experience) with a wide range of hazardous materials and the equipment required to use chemicals. Preference will be given to persons holding a BSc. in chemistry or related field.

• The incumbent must demonstrate excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.

• Must possess enough physical strength to lift 30 lbs.

• Experience working with of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database software.

• Ability to obtain TDG certification within 30 days.

• Valid and acceptable Police Clearance.


Rate of pay:
Tentative Classification "II" per Schedule 'A' of the Collective Agreement
