Senior Gift and Pledge Processor '8' in the Financial Accounting and Reporting Department

he Gift and Pledge Processor is responsible for reporting of funds generated through fund raising and ensuring the accuracy of reporting in both Raiser’s Edge (RE) and the financial information system (FIS). The position ensures that tax receipting is accurate and timely for both cash and non-cash gifts in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines.


1. Reconciles donations between RE and FIS, as well as other systems and RE.

2. Prepares financial reports including actual funds raised, pledges, etc. from RE and/or FIS as required by various internal stakeholders, and as required for University compliance activities.

3. Identifies any collection issues related to outstanding pledges and works closely with other departments to determine pledge write-offs.

4. Prepares financial information for external communications, reviews endowment and trust applications to ensure the terms of reference are accurately prepared.

5. Reviews deposits prepared by the Gift and Pledge Processor before they are sent to bank for processing.

6. Creates, reviews, and posts donation batches created by the Gift and Pledge Processor.

7. Liaises with donors and /or departments on campus regarding tax receipt issues.

8. Liaises with Information Technology Services (ITS) regarding RE functionality, updates/upgrades and ensures changes are integrated into the daily workflow.

9. Provides training and assistance to other staff on RE functionality as well as tests new system features, and suggests addition/changes/deletions to constituent records as required to accommodate donation processing and receipting.

10. Performs any other tasks as assigned by the Accounting & Taxation Manager or the Accounting and Taxation Manager’s designate.



• University Degree or College Diploma in a related field (business, fundraising), or significant experience in donation processing and tax receipting.

• Experience in the use of a computerized fund raising system, including report preparation.

• Working knowledge of CRA gift receipting legislations.

• Basic Understanding of account principles and banking procedures.

• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and outlook, Typing 30 NWPM

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.

• Self-motivated and directed, with an ability to take initiative.

• Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate with donors and the campus community.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

• Demonstrates ability to pay strict attention to detail while delivering high level accuracy.


MS Word (Intermediate Level), MS Excel (Intermediate Level); Typing


• Experience in the use of a computerized financial information system would be an asset.
