Substitute Social Media Coordinator Tentative Class 'VI' in the Office of Public Affairs & Communications until approximately June 21st, 2019

Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs & Communications, this position is an essential component of the University’s Outreach and Communication strategy. The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and advancing communications using social media outlets. This is a rapidly expanding marketing and communication tool for the University to reach our key audiences including prospective students.

 


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training

• Knowledge of current social media tools and ability to creatively apply tools to reach goals

• A Solid knowledge of concepts and principles of digital media and social media strategies, metrics and tactics

• A background in news, media communications, public relations, and or media relations is required

• A basic knowledge of the University’s campus, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives, programs and infrastructure

• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communications skills and political acumen

• Time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask

• Demonstrated proficiency with computer technology

• Highly motivated self-starter with a creative mind

• Demonstrated analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure

• Ability to work flexible hours
