Electronics Technologist Tentative Classification "V" in the Faculty of Engineering

The Electronics Technologist position is to provide technical support to the Faculty of Engineering primarily in Electrical and Computer Engineering to ensure the continued operation of the labs and equipment.


The successful candidate will have:

• 3-year College Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology/ Electronics Engineering Technology – Industrial Automation, or related field as identified by the Faculty from an accredited post-secondary institute; or related equivalent experience as determined by the Faculty

• 3 years of experience in controls, automation as well as experience in maintenance and/or repair

• Ability to design and fabricate as well as diagnose and repair a wide variety of instruments and electrical/electronics equipment

• Working knowledge of data acquisition and instrumentation systems

• Working knowledge digital and legacy electronics, programmable and robotic controls, high voltage/current circuits

• Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse student, staff and faculty population

• Good multi-tasking and organizational skills with excellent problem solving skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work both as a team member and independently

• Knowledge of electrical safety


• Experience with high power systems (ie 115 V, 40 A, 1-phase; 208 V, 480 V, 100 A, 3-phase; and 300 V, 100 A DC) is preferred

Rate of pay:
Tentative Classification ā€œVā€ per Schedule A of the collective agreement
