NOTICE RE: TEACHING ASSISTANT (TA) POSITIONS AVAILABLE FOR

FALL 2012

 

          In accordance with Article 12:01 of the CUPE 4580 Collective Agreement the Department of Economics invites applications for TA positions for the Fall 2012 term. The total funds for Teaching Assistantships allocated to the Department of Economics for the 2012/13 academic year is $36,000.

11 TA position for 50 hrs each

Fall Semester: Sept. 1 to Dec.. 31, 2012

All positions are subject to sufficient enrolment and final budgetary approval.

 

Eligibility requirements:

TA appointments shall be offered to qualified applicants in accordance with the criteria specified in Article 12:04 of the Collective Agreement. The following are specific criteria required for the appointments above.  Preference will be given to applicants who (not necessarily in order of importance):

  • have completed 41-110, 41-111, 41-212, 41-221, 41-222, 41-231 and 41-232,or equivalent courses, and have achieved an average grade of A- or better in the above courses;
  • have very good communication skills in English;
  • have very good inter-personal skills;
  • will be available throughout normal school hours and for midterm and final exams (except during  lectures, test and exams in courses in which they are registered);
  • are familiar with MYECONLAB software.

 

Outstanding Scholars in Economics and M1 Masters graduate students (Qualifying Year) in Economics are encouraged to apply.
