Combinatorial Testing

Computer Science Colloquium Presentation

Dr. Changhai Nie
Nanjing University

Date:  Monday, July 16th, 2018
Time: 10:00 am
Location: 3105, Lambton Tower

Abstract: Combinatorial testing has been developed as a complete and effective testing method. It can detect various faults triggered by the system factors and their interactions in the software under testing with a test suite of covering array. Based on the existing work and our research in this field, we review the evolution of combinatorial testing, and identify the key issues, solutions, and typical applications with the aim of providing guidance for the future research and development of combinatorial testing.

Bio: Dr. Changhai Nie is a full professor in State Key Laboratory for Novel Software Technology and Department of Computer Science and Technology at Nanjing University. He has taught more than 10 courses, including Software Engineering, Algorithm Design and etc. From December 2007 to November 2008 he worked in King's College London as visiting research fellow. His research interests are software testing techniques, including metamorphic testing, evolutionary testing, and especially combinatorial testing. His research in combinatorial testing has been supported by NSFC and Chinese High Technique Research Plan. He has published many papers in Chinese top journal and some important international journals including TSE, TOSEM. IST and TEVC.
