Abstract: This talk will try to paint a big picture of AI research and development, by looking back at some of the historical milestones, discussing the current promises and challenges with several examples, as well as envisioning the new opportunities and breakthroughs yet to be unfolded.

Bio: Jiming Liu is the Chair Professor of Computer Science and Associate Vice-President (Research) at Hong Kong Baptist University. He received his M.Eng. and Ph.D. from McGill University. His research interests include: AI and Data Analytics; Complex Networks and Web Intelligence; Autonomy-Oriented Computing; and Computational Healthcare and Sustainability. He is a Fellow of the IEEE.
