New faculty member - Dr. Saeed Samet - to expand our curriculum into Health Informatics

Dr. Saeed Samet joined this School of Computer Science this July as one of our newest Assistant Professors.  Dr. Samet is bringing his expertise here from Memorial University where he remains an adjunct professor at the e-Health Research Unit in the Faculty of Medicine.  Prior to that, Dr. Samet was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the e-Health Laboratory at the Children Hospital of Eastern Ontario Research Institute (CHEO-RI) from 2010-12.  Dr. Samet received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Ottawa in 2010.  His research interests include, but are not limited to: Privacy-Preserving in Data Mining, Machine Learning, Statistics, Big Data, and Social Networks; e-Health Security and Privacy; Health Informatics; Cryptography and Network Security; Secure Multi-party Computation; Secret Sharing.  Welcome Dr. Samet!
