The School of Computer Science is pleased to announce the upcoming Computer Science Academic Achievement Awards on Thursday April 6 at 3:00 p.m. in Toldo 102.

Each year, the School of Computer Science acknowledges not only those students who have achieved a cumulative GPA over 78% with a major GPA over 80%, but also those undergraduate students who have made an impact in research, in the industry and participated in School activities.

In addition to honouring our hard working students for their outstanding academic achievements, we are delighted that Dr. Denton Cockburn, School of Computer Science alumnus, will address the students as our Keynote Speaker.

Denton Cockburn was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moved to Toronto, Canada as a child.  He became a student at the University of Windsor in 2000 after surviving Y2K and completed all his degrees at Windsor, defending his PhD in 2011.  He moved to Montreal where he became a software developer, team lead, vice-president of a startup, and a data scientist.  In other endeavours, Denton is an avid Arsenal football fan and a chess National Master.
