MSc Thesis -Admission Requirements

Due to changes in the online application system, applications will NOT be accepted from NOVEMBER 18th - NOVEMBER 26th.

Thank you for considering the University of Windsor for your Graduate Studies. 

 We are currently accepting applications for the FALL 2019 term, that is a September start.

There are many factors taken into consideration during the application review process such as your previous academic records, overall standing, reference letters, research areas and supervisor availability.

The minimum admission requirements for the MSc Thesis based program are:

  • Confirmation of a 4 year BSc degree (Hons) with an overall GPA of 70% or higher (when converted to Ontario standards)
  • Demonstrated English Language Proficiency of 6.5 or better on the IELTS (Academic), no band score less than 6.5, or TOEFL-92, no band socre less than 23.

NOTE* - Applicants who do not meet the minimum English Proficiency at the time of application will not be considered for the MSc Thesis based program but may wish to consider the MAC Course based program.

*Applicants must meet the minimum requirements at the time of application.  Applicants with a 4 year degree in non-CS discipline may wish to consider the BCS for University Graduates program.

In order for an application package to be considered complete, the following documentation must be received by the deadline:

Completed on-line application form
2 Confidential reports (reference letters)
CV
Original transcripts
Research Statement form
English Proficiency results

*Please note, it is highly recommended that applicants indicate one of more potential supervisors, along with the intended area of interest, on the Research Statement form.
