Congratulations to K. M. Numanul Hoque Subhani and Paul D. Meyer, winners of the NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships.

Numanul is a doctoral student in the Computer Science program and has been awarded the PGSD2 scholarship which is worth $21,000 per year for two years.  Currently researching continuous auditing on health information systems, he will continue to work with Dr. Robert Kent.  He also has keen interests in Bioinformatics on gene expression analysis.

Paul will be graduating from our Bachelor of Science (Hons) Physics & Computer Science program.  He has been on the President's Honour Roll since he began his program in Fall 2008.  Paul has been awarded the CGSM award  worth $17,500.  He has accepted an offer of admission in the Master's program at the University of Waterloo.

NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships (PGS) provide financial support to high calibre scholars who are engaged in master's or doctoral programs in the natural sciences or engineering. The CGS will be offered to the top-ranked applicants at each level (master’s and doctoral) and the next tier of meritorious applicants will be offered an NSERC PGS. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields. NSERC encourages interested and qualified Aboriginal students to apply.
