MY THOUGHTS ON TEACHING AND LEARNING
-
I seek to motivate and instill a thirst for learning in you.
-
I try to make learning relevant by using familiar examples.
-
My task is to shine a flashlight to help you recognize unique gifts and strengths and weaknesses.
-
I also need to shine a flashlight on paths you could follow to be successful.
-
You and I must share goals for each course.
-
I take my teaching role very seriously and expect you to do the same.
-
I use multiple modes of presentation and testing in every course.
-
You can earn the highest grade desired as long you exert the effort.
-
I teach using an outcome-based model. I specify my course outcomes in the outline and expect that you will achieve them by the end of the course.
-
At your request, we can change grading breakdowns for a course.
