Retired now, but what a life
Now retired, Judge Matthew Borowiec BA ’56 got the best from his degree that worked.
“I am forever indebted to the university for a good start,” said Judge Borowiec.
Born and raised in Windsor, he readily choose Assumption University where he played varsity basketball for four years. After the completion of his BA in 1956, he moved to Arizona and received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
He has belonged to a number of organizations such as the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Arizona, and the Arizona Judges Association. Upon his retirement, he was presented the Distinguished Service Award, by the Arizona Supreme Court.
Not only did he serve his adopted country as a Court Judge, but also he belonged to the United States Navy and was a Lieutenant.
Judge Borowiec believes that “the exposure too much of what was presented in my liberal arts courses contributed to what success I have experienced.”
Judge Borowiec is married to Charlene Borowiec and has three children from a previous marriage, Joel, William, and Anne.
