2007 Recipient of the Alumni Award of Merit
Diana Mady Kelly, Professor Emeritus, is an actor, theatre director, administrator, and award winning teacher. She is the former Director of the School of Dramatic Art and the current Creative Director of Windsor Theatre Development Corporation.
She served two terms as president of the Council of Ontario University and College Theatre Programmes and one term as Head of the department of Creative Arts and Critical Studies. She is a member of Canadian Actors' Equity Association and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers and a founding member of the Stratford Summer Academy for University students.
During her term as Director of the School of Dramatic Art the long held dream of a new teaching facility for students, staff, and faculty became a reality, one of Diana's and her colleagues' most prized accomplishments. She is the 2006 recipient of the prestigious ATHE Award for Outstanding Teacher of Theatre in Higher Education.
She enjoys her continued association with the University of Windsor and with the School of Dramatic Art. She is active as a committee member, academic counsellor, actor, instructor and mentor.
She is also a certified yoga instructor in private practice and with the Windsor-Essex Cardiac Rehab Program.
