Alumni (on the) links, grads cover golf for TSN
Bob Weeks and Marc Mallette became friends while attending communication studies classes together in the early '80s working towards their respective degrees. After graduation though, they went their separate ways. Mallette became a camera man at TSN, first working in the studio and now in the field as an Electronic News Gathering (ENG) camera person. Weeks went on to become the editor of SCOREGolf Magazine, the largest golf publication in Canada.
When TSN recruited Weeks to become their Golf Analyst, the two were reunited, some 18 years after graduation. The duo now travel to most of golf's biggest events including the U.S. Open, PGA Championship and Canadian Open, getting the news and interviews on everyone from Mike Weir to Tiger Woods.
Separately, the two are equally as busy; Mallette regularly covers the Olympics, Super Bowl, Stanley Cup playoffs and World Series, while Weeks takes in some 10 to 15 of the world's top golf tournaments and also covers curling's Brier.
