The University's Student Code of Conduct provides that:
This website is intended to assist students in maintaining academic integrity while they are members of the University community, and in their future endeavours.
Students are encouraged to visit the links setting out the University's Relevant Bylaws and Policies, that include:
Plagiarism Policy, Graduate Plagiarism Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy as it relates to computer use.
NOTE: Students are presumed to know these policies and are responsible for familiarizing themselves with them.
Moreover, this website provides information to assist students with understanding what plagiarism is, how to avoid it, and how to cite their work responsibly. It also provides information on Turnitin.com, the plagiarism-detection system to which the University subscribes. If you are a student visiting this webpage, you are invited to take advantage of the wealth of information that is available on this subject.
While the University's goal is to prevent academic and non-academic misconduct before it happens, the University recognizes that it does occur. In such situations the University takes an active role in addressing transgressions. For the procedures that are followed, consult the Bylaw 31: Student Affairs and Integrity located under Relevant Bylaws and Polices and Frequently Asked Questions If Charged. Information about misconduct cases and the sanctions that are imposed is also available.
For specific questions on the subject of academic integrity, or the policies and procedures in place at the University of Windsor, feel free to contact the University's Academic Integrity Officer.
