Scarborough, Ontario
Graduating with an honours Bachelor of Arts in drama and Communication, Media, and Film Studies

How did you pick your major of study, and why did you choose the University of Windsor?

I chose to do a double major in Drama and Communication, Media, and Film Studies because it allowed me to combine my love for acting and media/jounalism studies in one degree. I chose to come to the University of Windsor because it was one of the only schools in Ontario that offered this unique degree. Also, when I came to Head Start in my final year in high school I fell in love with the campus, the culture, and the surrounding area.

What were your expectations of university? Has the University of Windsor met those expectations?

My expectations of the university were to provide me with a quality education that would challenge my mind and help me to grow and develop as an individual. Yes, the University of Windsor was able to meet and exceed my expectations.

What would you say is the most important thing you have learned at university: about yourself, about other people, about your field of study, or about the world?

There have been many important life lessons that I have learned during my four years at the University of Windsor however the two most important being; take advantage of all opportunities that are placed in front of you because you will meet awesome people and experience amazing things and I have learned that I am capable of doing and accomplishing more that I thought.

What would you say has been the most memorable part of your UWindsor experience?

Although my whole UWindsor experience was very memorable I think that the main highlight for me was the learning that happened while outside of the classroom. Being a part of Campus life living in student residences, as a RLS staff member, a part of campus student groups, and being a coordinator for the African Diaspora Youth Conference.

Please tell us why you are proud to be part of the University of Windsor’s graduating class of 2011.

I am proud to be part of the University of Windsor's graduating class of 2011 because I know that I have worked very hard to get to this point. There were a few times throughout my undergraduate career where I felt like giving up but I had family, friends, and professors who have encouraged me and helped me to reach my goal.

Did you have a course, professor or classmate who inspired you?

The professor who has inspired me the most during my time here at the University of Windsor is Dr. Richard Lewis; his zest for life and passion for teaching is highly apparent. Dr. Lewis is always willing and ready to help any student who comes to his office door. I have adopted his positive attitude for life, and I hope that I will be able to touch the lives of others as he has.

What are your plans following graduation?

Following graduation I will be attending graduate school studying journalism.
